Cookie Information
Cookies on mycivic.eu
This page explains what is stored in your browser when you visit mycivic.eu: your answer to our cookie question, one security cookie from our hosting provider Cloudflare and, only if you accept them, cookies from the Google tools we use to measure our campaigns.

Our main pages
The main pages of mycivic.eu (Home, Platform, For Cities, Security & Data, What's New and its articles, About, and legal pages such as this one) give information only. Their own code sets no cookies. It keeps one item in your browser's local storage, mycivic-consent, which holds your answer to the cookie question and its date, so we do not ask again on every page. We ask again after about six months, or sooner if the question changes.
This page covers the website only. Deployments of the MyCivic platform for an institution are covered by that institution's own agreement and notices.
Campaign measurement with Google
If you accept, your browser loads Google Tag Manager from googletagmanager.com. Through it we run Google's measurement tools for our campaigns, Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion measurement, which show us how visitors find the site and which campaigns lead to enquiries. For Google Analytics, Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms. For Google Ads conversion measurement, Google acts as a separate controller under its own privacy policy. We do not use them to show you personalized advertising, and we tell Google not to.
| Name | Type | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Measurement, set on mycivic.eu after you accept | Google Analytics | Tells visits from the same browser apart, so one visitor is not counted twice | Two years |
| _ga_ followed by an ID | Measurement, set on mycivic.eu after you accept | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | Two years |
| _gcl_au | Measurement, set on mycivic.eu after you accept | Google Ads | Connects a click on one of our adverts with a later visit or enquiry | Three months |
Which of these cookies are set depends on the tools we have switched on. Before we add a tool of another kind, we will update this page and ask for your choice again. Google Ireland Limited provides these tools in Europe. Google explains how it uses this information in its privacy policy and on its page about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visit statistics
Cloudflare Web Analytics is active on this site. It loads a script from static.cloudflareinsights.com that sends Cloudflare a record of each page view and how quickly the page loaded. Cloudflare states that this service uses no cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors, that is, recognize a device from its technical details.
Older pages and the 3D map
Some older pages on mycivic.eu, such as earlier design versions, load fonts from Google Fonts. The 3D map demonstration at mycivic.eu/twincity/ loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and data from Cesium ion. Opening these pages connects your browser to those services, which receive your IP address and normal request details. We do not control whether they set their own cookies. Each has its own privacy policy: Google, the OpenStreetMap Foundation and Cesium.
Controlling cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, for all sites or for mycivic.eu alone. If you block or delete cf_clearance, Cloudflare may run its security check again when you return. You can also change your answer to our cookie question at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of each page.
